Smaller than two 9-volt batteries laid end to end, the AC30 competently delivers a portable personal practice space. With the capability to plug in an external music source, it provides the ability to jam with your favorite music practically anywhere, and with instant portability. My only complaint: it could be a good bit louder, especially when the gain is rolled back. Still, I love how I can now play anywhere I choose to, and take the jams with me, all without irritating even people sitting right next to me. The effects, while credible, are severely limited in scope, but what do you want in an amp/effects package smaller than the smallest stomp box you've ever seen?

I was looking for something to plug my guitar into for those moments of inspiration without having to drag out an amp and mess with cords. Also, I wanted something so that I was the only one who could hear my mistakes! This is a great little headphone amp! The sound is bright, and there are a lot of effects that can be accessed by pressing two buttons. It can get down and dirty when you want it to be! There are two suggestions I might make to Vox: The plug is a little flimsy and you have to jiggle it sometimes to make it connect, and in a Strat-style guitar, the wheels that control volume, tone and gain are on the bottom where you can't see them. Neither of these are major problems, though. This little headphone amp is definitely worth looking into!

For those of you that want to jam, but in an apartment, or bedroom, don't want to bother anyone....or play out in the park....this cannot be beat. It sounds--I have nice headphones---like I am playing through a Marshall Stack, has effects for days. Kenny Carson

This is amazing to say the least!! I bought it to try with my pedal steel guitars but it won't handle those high ohm pickups. It will handle my lap steel pickups however and it is perfect.
