In my Opinion, the book is a very good to excellent book on the subject. The book very accurately and completely describes the Madelman action figures. I think the toy figures were originally created and made in Spain. I think Play sets, vehicles and accessories for these figures are also shown and described. These figures, that are about 6 inches tall, were made in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. In my view, the Madelman figures look kind of similar to the [U.S.] Hasbro, 12 inch, G.I.Joe figures made in the same years as the Madelman figures. To me, that doesn't mean that G.I. Joe figures are better, but that they are kind of similar. It might take some American and Western readers a little time to get used to the English text in the book, since the author seems to be from Spain, so, I think that some of his expressions are not exactly like British or American expressions. This is a very good book! I hope that there will be a lot of interest in it.Read full review
If you're not familiar with Madelman, they were a Spanish toy company that made a line of 7 inch tall action figures - sort of the Spanish version of G.I. Joe, but smaller, produced from the late 60's through the 80's. Madelman's motto was "Madelman can do anything!" and they tried to live up to it, producing figures that were soldiers, race car drivers, explorers, Wild West cavalry and Indians, Pirates, and many others. There aren't a lot of available resources about these figures if you don't speak Spanish, and I found this book very helpful. It's translated from Spanish and sometimes the translation is a little rough (for example, 'action figures' are referred to as 'dummies') but the meaning is always clear. Pedro Andrea's collection is vast and well-photographed, and the dioramas involving Madelman figures were beautifully done and loads of fun to look at. The pictures are large and professional and there are plenty of them. In addition the accessories to each set and figure are listed, including variations. This book only covers the vintage figures, not the modern ones, reproductions, or knockoffs. The only quibble I have is that I would have liked to know what the figures were originally called in Spanish, since it would be easier to search for them online. A delightful book for those interested in vintage toys, and an invaluable resource for collectors.Read full review

The book is a great history of this figure, the photos, the quality of papper, and in general the book is one of the best that I have seen of this genere.
