I selected the M-Audio Keystation 88es Keyboard because it was low cost, very compact, and had a nice weighted key feel. There are no similar products in this low price range. It is minimalist, no speakers or sound generation, so use only with computer or MIDI . I am very satisfied with my keyboard. Easy MIDI interface, nice feel and play. More features than I expected, like easy change of MIDI channel and volume control. Pitch blend is a hoot.
Good for Sound Modules ie my Roland XV 3080

I needed a MIDI keyboard interface to access the full power of my Digital Audio Workstation's vast library of instruments. (Logic Pro 9 in this case.) I also needed it to be velocity sensitive. This no-frills product exceeded my expectations. It takes the toil out of laying down my ideas in my Studio. It meets the plug n' play gratification award in my mind. There's no comparison to this product in it's price-range either. I researched products for months and settled on this one. Once I played it, it was love at first touch.
Pro: Great price, excellent features, lightweight, great complementary program. Easy to use and setup. Very minimalistic controls. Against: Should come with a power supply, to use it if you use a midi box and don't run it with the computer usb plug.
Good construction. Keys feel ok. Good value.
