I bought this for a client because of the price and previous experience with this product. It is a good first mandolin and the quality is more or less consistent. The necks are straight enough and don't need a lot of work to set up nice. The bridge will always require shaving to fit the top correctly, but I find that on many other brands...even the big boys. Strings are not the proper gauge to allow for better sound. I use medium+ if the instrument can take it, and Kentucky mandolins are well built enough for that. I do not own one of these but could play gigs with if I had to. Bid with confidence and find a good mandolin/instrument tech in your area.
Researched this model thoroughly before I purchased it and the reviews were consistently great on this model. Many sites said this was the BEST value in mandolins for the beginner and now that I own a Kentucky KM-150, I couldn't agree more. I'm a very difficult consumer to please and I love this mandolin. The sound is amazing, the appearance is beautiful and the quality of the product is fantastic. I'm really, really happy with this mandolin and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I am a Mandolin Luthier and I find it hard to make a good quality mandolin at the same price as this one. If anyone say's this mandolin is of poor quality then they have know idea what a mandolin looks like. I setup, sell and make mandolins everyday in my shop. Thanks, IndianaGuitar
