Takes a long time to sand down the frets and hard on the hands. If the side frets are sharp it just rips the sandpaper. You have to not use a lot of pressure and keep going over and over the frets. It took me over an hour and went through most of the sandpaper that comes with it. I still had to use a metal file on some. I think I would pay more and get a good fret file next time. It took me longer using this than it did doing one at a time with a file.

I used this tool to remove the sharp edges on an Ibanez SR306EB bass - I didn't think a more traditional file was warranted, plus they are expensive. I needed to just do a small smoothing job. I must admit I was apprehensive about using this tool, even though I do a lot of other guitar work, but this worked great. No damage to the fingerboard wood, and nice smooth edges. I used this tool VERY carefully, masking the body and moving the strings out of the was etc. Only took off just what I needed - highly recommend.

In this day of you tube there is no reason not to have some kind of video. I did figure it out and yes it was easy but was very nervous not seeing it being used. Took off all the sharp edges, still have to do some minor rounding using fret file but cuts the time way down.

This is a nice little tool to remove the sharp ends of your frets, but you need to be cautious about your approach. It can scratch the edge of your fretboard if you're not careful. Just take a not too aggressive approach.

I can't say anything bad about this item, it certainly did what would be expected. However i think a brief instructional video maybe on youtube...would be of great benefit.
