"A Grave Mistake". Since the very title this story pretty much shows its author's spirit: grinning humour and a noir-style attitude in a mainstream book, up to then a superheroes sheer second-liner. The plot non only gives Frank Miller his first round of bullets on the sunny silver-age do-gooders like DAREDEVIL, but also unties the knot of DEATH STALKER's existence - as of today, one of Marvel's best underrated villains this side of pre-Annihilation ANNIHILUS. It will stand in your memory the grim finale causing the title's wicked inside joke, along with fight scenes that finally make physical sense after all those long years of as spectacular as absurd dynamic displays. Clearly, this was the beginning of a great something: the whole darker-urban-hero went downhill fast as it became selling system in the 90s and eventually awful (SPIRIT?!?), but at the time it was fresh, strong and sincere. The copy is a GD low grader like it always should to avoid the even lower exploiting of foolishly high-print Bronze Age series like this one ( ASM 121/22 and 129, just to laugh about it). Take notes. Love to anyone loving comics, Janisch from Turin, NW Italy.Read full review
