The book is dated, for sure. And Cengage should--but will not--update it. They have abandoned it. But if you can do some workarounds, it is still one of the best step-by-step, hands-on Dreamweaver textbooks ever published. Many designers do not use Dreamweaver, some still do. Some hand code using Dreamweaver. But if you are just starting out as a web designer, Dreamweaver is a very helpful tool. You will become familiar with HTML, CSS and Javascript without making the many mistakes thate the rest of us made. Dreamweaver is very helpful in that respect, and this text is a good start.
