Robert Sabuda's work is amazing. This pop-up book is one of his best. Early editions, such as this one, have a little holiday lite house in the last pop-up. Batteries that can be accessed through the back of the book were depleted with age. They are easy to replace. I have given several of these books as gifts with all being well received.

I adore the Robert Sabuda pop up books. They are magical. I have this and A Visit From Saint Nicholaus, The Wizard of Oz, and The Pop Up Mother Goose and keep them out on a shelf. I look at them frequently and many of my visitors start looking at them and love them = and go out and buy them. They are incredibly intricate and complex - you can't imagine how anyone could possibly have conceived of them, let alone made one - let alone made enough for publication. Children will like them, but adults will flip over them.
There is nothing I DISlike about it. It is a fantastic, intricate pop-up book like nothing you've ever seen before - NOT just for kids. I have it still in plastic on my bookshelf and share it with my grandchildren as well as friends. My friend had some of Robert Sabuda's other pop-up books, and I found them absolutely enchanting...thus, I bought this one. I would also like to buy the patriotic book of Sabuda's in the future - when the price is right. Diane Osberg
Fabulous engineering brings this story to life. As each page unfolds its treasures, the reader is pulled into an intricately detailed snowy animal kingdom.
