Good tablet for the price but a little outdated. Android 4.2, 1gb ram, 8gb internals, 5mp rear camera, 2mp front camera, 7inch 1280x800. The product is thicker than some competitors, but not heavier.

The speed is excellent and the screen is bright and clear. Battery is very strong (6-8) hours. I have been very impressed with the volume and quality of the sound. I compared it to other brands that my family has and they are all impressed with my Asus MeMo Pad Me173X I also have 2 10 " Asus tablets and love them all.

I purchased my Asus MeMo Pad HD 7 because I was tired of paying too much for my apple products, this product fits the bill cheaper than an iPod touch but almost the size of an iPad mini. I love almost every thing about it like the removable memory my ipod died and I lost all my pictures, won't happen again, also the display is excellent, the sound is superior to my ipad, and it uses google play not iTunes. On the downside if I want my music from iTunes the google app. is $10. Everything else I love. I will be purchasing many more of Asus products in the near future.
Had high hopes based on specs and bought pad "very slightly used and fully functional" but ran into problems immediately. The digitizer had huge sensitivity issues with input especially at the bottom half of the screen. Nearly a full quarter of the screen was un-responsive to touch input. The micro SD card would mount and un-mount randomly for no apparent reason. The earphone jack would sometimes connect when plugged in but other times would allow the external speakers to keep playing while headphones were functional as well, other times the headphones would not work. After a little extended internet research I found I wasn't alone with my predicament(s). I ended up replacing it with a Dell Venue 8 8" 16G pad as a replacement with similar speed and specs and none of the ASUS quality issues plus it had 2 gigs of ram.Read full review
I had researched the other tablets before buying the ASUS MeMo HD 7. The most important reason this one was the one I bought was that it had a SD card slot for expansion. The other comparable 7 inch tablets don't seem to think an expansion option is important. Price is the second consideration. And than battery life. The screen resolution is quite adequate for my purposes, even if the "other guys" claim a higher pixel count.
