Nice unit, good strong chassis, easy to repair, unlike the newer models. The display is sharp and bright, and the keyboard is excellent with good feel and a nice backlight. These systems are not meant to be used constantly at high CPU utilization, their ability to dissipate heat is poor. If you attempt to find prime numbers or mine bitcoins with this system, it will get very hot and shut itself down. The battery is the weakest part of this computer. It is expensive, it lasts for maybe two years before requiring replacement, and it seems insufficient compared to other systems I've used. The apple magsafe charger is also a weak part of the system. The cable is flimsy and delicate and often breaks. The replacement cost is horrifying. The RAM and disk are not sufficient for heavy use, but they are easily upgraded.Read full review
It runs quite smoothly even considering it is 5 years old. The primary slow downs that I noticed were at start-up. Most models at this age will have greatly reduced battery life so you want to make certain the batteries have already been replaced or that you can get one from Apple. Note: If any part in its life has been replaced with a third-party part, Apple will not help on any of the hardware. This system is pre-configured to allow up to 8g of RAM. Under the right settings and configuration, it could go higher I found out.
MacBook Pro vs MacBook. I think MacBook Pro is probably 2-3 years ahead. Thus, the spec of MacBook Pro 2010 is similar to that of MacBook 2012, 2013. Thus, it still works as if it were a MacBook 2013 as of 2016. It is way better than my previous MacBook 2007. I purchased a clean MacBook Pro 2010. The battery cycle was still under 200. It is surprisingly low as the battery can be healthy until 1000 cycles. It also had a 250GB SSD. It is quite nice. However, I notice one issue after 1-2 weeks I started to use. Several keys do not work occasionally. It is an inconsistent issue. I intended to use this MacBook Pro 2010 as a Mac in my home to look up e-mails and some web pages (I also have MacBook Pro 2015, MacBook 2007, MacBookAir, and one iMac). Thus, it does not look a major problem so far. I don't know how this problem will turn out in the coming years.Read full review

We bought this computer for my daughter as she graduated from high school. (Our girl was the last to graduate and the two boys had both gotten a laptop, as well, however, they desired a PC). Our girl, however, wanted a Mac after borrowing my school-issued Macbook for the last two years. (I'm a teacher). With three in college, new Macs were just not in our price range so we bought her one on e-bay. It was a scary thing to buy a higher priced used item on a venue such as e-bay, but we made sure we used a top-rated seller. It was well worth it. We got the laptop for a great price and really appreciated the fact that it was loaded with all the programs she wanted and more. (Some I wish were on mine). It has made a great buy an outstanding one. She has done activities on it through the summer to break it in. She has been very pleased with its performance. She has mentioned that it takes longer to start up. We realize it is because of it being loaded. Slower start up time is a small price to pay for the benefits of the programs! ...Since it was a used laptop and had a ding on the casing, which we knew about, we also got a blue, hard shell case for it. It fit perfectly and really makes it a sharp looking computer!Read full review
This was not my first MAC as I bought my first on in 2010 from the Apple Store. It was nice and I loved it. Then one day I tried to replace the plastic cover on the LCD and ended up cracking the LCD. Then I ordered a LCD Display and damaged the connector on it trying to plug it in. I was about to buy from the apple store again and I started looking on ebay and was very reluctant. This laptop may as well be the one I bought for $1200.00 everything is awesome. The pictures made it look worse than it was. It was a processor and HD upgrade from the 2.4Ghz I had but both made in April 2010 - the 2.66 version and I put 8GB in it. There's nothing I don't like about it at all. It's as good as any refurbished or New computer you would get from Apple. I was surprised. Well you don't get the wrappings and disks but I had those already. I have not looked at a windows PC now for 3+ years and am loving it. I love the Xcode and Objective-C to develop programs on the MAC.Read full review
