This movie is AWESOME. Firstly, this encaptures the comic/magazine title in a way that is rare to find in movies adapted from comics. The cast was near perfect choices, and their performances only enhanced one another. Yes there are some that will point out that the violence in this movie is a bit "over the top", IT'S BASED ON A COMIC WHICH HAS THE SAME QUALITY OF VIOLENCE. So if you have an issue with movie violence, this isn't your movie. I have nothing negative to say about this movie. Unfortunately, I don't think it did well enough to merit a sequel, but if they could pull together another script like this (different story of course) AND manage to keep the major actors onboard, I'd watch it in a heartbeat. Packaging was brand new, couldn't have asked for better. Extra features are plentiful, and give real insight into the process of creating this universe, and reveal some of the character development that went into the comic/magazine initially.Read full review
Was a Dredd fan since the 80's and even tho I enjoyed the goofy Stallone Dredd as fun entertainment Urban pulls off the best Dredd and like in the comics never removes his helmet. One of the most violent movies I have seen in along time as they do not pull any punches here so its not for the light hearted. Cool effects and pulls you in like your right there.

I like it more than the first- its just creepy watching Stallone act at anytime. But.. l loved the one-dimensional version of this Dredd. I found it more parallel to every policeman I have known but played to the 9's. I liked the city we were shown and the view of society bu there could have been more comparison of the lives iin the better part of town.. I liked the lethal quality of the drug as well as street drugs now are becoming more lethal and brain damaging. the juxtaposition of the blonde rookie newbie accentuated Dredd's dead emotional state and gave hope there was innocence somewhere in that dystopia even if it was being corrupted as we watched. This is the only Judge Dredd movie you should watch. Gritty, dark, and just the way it should be for this character. The characters are engaging and I love the portrayal of Judge Dredd. I don't know why it got lost in the movie shuffle when it came out as a number of friends of mine didn't even know this movie came out. Once they saw it they were like 'whoa that was cool!' Check it out! Great sci-fi movie!

This was a great thrilling entertaining movie that was great even if you're not knowledgeable about the Judge Dredd comic books and it would also be great if you are a Dredd comic books and you would love it too I only wish they would make a sequel for this movie
