We are fans of British film and particularly like stories based on actual events. This series has believable characters, a fascinating story line and quality acting. We also purchased Season 2. We love it all and will pass it on to a sibling who is a history buff.

This is an interesting series as each episode can be viewed as part of a series or as a stand alone. The Channel Islands were the only part of Great Britain to be invaded by the Germans. The interaction of islanders and their German captors makes for interesting viewing. Should the islanders fight back or should an uneasy truce be maintainrd? How the people react and the decisions they make are interesting viewing. If you have read the The Guersey Potato Peel Pie and Literary Society, this would be a good series to add to your knowledge of this time period.
