Look folks, this is ADAM SANDLER we're talking about here. Yes, this is the same stuff that he was doing ten years ago with "The Waterboy." Yes, this is the same company that brought us "Happy Gilmore" and "Click." And yes, while I have aged a bit since I could appreciate the his silliness, there is still a part of me that enjoys the goofy fun that Adam Sandler likes to put on screen. So how does the humor compare to previous Sandler features? Well, it's unfocused. Part of the problem is that three writers with different mentalities are writing the script. The silliness comes from Sandler, the raunchy stuff comes from Apatow, and everything else comes from Smigel. Although I found myself laughing at quite a few parts (particularly when the Zohan was on the job as a soldier), there were also a lot of parts where I was thinking to myself "Come on. Another shot of the crotch?" (Or butt, or some other sexual reference) All of these various ingredients have been thrown in together, and the end result is, let's face it, uneven.Read full review

I am not very much in the comedy genre for movies but found much entertainment value and even some people relations value in this film.

With much anticipation to see this movie, we give ZOHAN an average rating of 5.5/6 out of 10. We cant wait to get our hands on new Adam Sandler films, but ZOHAN was just "okay" as it had a handful of very funny scenes, yet most of it contained crazy spoof-like scenes. Odd, yet funny scenes can be very entertaining most of the time, however, the "many" crazy spoof odd-humor scenes in the movie were a bit much. A couple of us lost interests near the beginning while others of us lost interest 3/4 of the way through. Rent It or Buy It? We say Rent It first. An okay film we may not be likely to watch again. To be fair, my husband and I were extras when the beach scenes were shot (in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico) and my husband had already met Sandler at a golf course and had his picture taken with him, so he autographed it during filming of this movie, so I am biased, but thought the movie was very funny though a bit crude in areas and not for children, for sure.Very slapstick, which hubby likes (he is a big 3 Stooges fan as well as a huge Sandler fan)I bought it for the memories it holds specifically and because we have friends who've not seen it yet and want to. Enjoy!
