This is a required textbook for a Sociology class I'm currently taking. So far I've only had to use it for one assignment. Otherwise, we've barely opened it. What I have read is easy to understand and not boring. Wish this book was a LOT less expensive though as it's frustrating to pay over $75 for a paperback book that I'm barely using.
I have read the first two chapters so far and I think the text is very straight forward and goes into detail. There are lots of tables, research cases, examples as well as questions at the end of the chapter. There is also a summary at the end of most sections in a chapter. It's good for a wrap up or if you are a note-taker. So far i give it an A
Its helpful, its a detailed book . It gives great examples of actual events that are a part of society today. It also includes real life stories.
Book was required for a college class. Easy reading - easy to understand. Covers social problems in a short, consice manner.
The book is well written and an easy read. It is very entising and explains topics well with examples.
