I purchased the Samsung SGH T139 and it is working great. Even though the packaging was for T-Mobile prepaid service, I just put my mom-in law's SIM card in and it works perfectly with her T-Mobile monthly service. We bought the SGH T139 because the price was very economical and my mother in-law does not need a smartphone with many features, just a simple camera phone, which the T139 has. It replaced another Samsung (SGH-E105) that was several years old and sound quality was fading. It had been passed around as a back-up phone whenever needed and run it's course. Luckily, we found a great deal on the SGH T139 and we're very happy with the awesome voice clarity in both directions. No more callers saying "What'd you say?". The ease of setup and ease of use makes this phone feel like a no hassle device. The SGH T139 also supports T-Mobile's Mobile Backup so that our contacts are saved on T-Mobile servers, this was a convenient surprise. Overall the SGH T139 has been a simple, functional device with nice clear keys and screen. Highly recommended if a no-frills device is what your looking for.Read full review
This an available option for those people who are looking into buying a phone that has a lot of cool features, that does not need an extra monthly data plan in order to activate, but does the most of a smart phone (internet, texting, camera, calls, video etc.)with a reasonable plan that adjust to modest budget.(bluetooth have some issues with my computer, though). It also features optional applications such as: gps, games, web, ring-tones and other cool functions that you would have to pay extra$$ to activate in your phone; but if you don't want to be slaved into paying an extra monthly data plan, this is the phone to have (assuming your carrier is T-mobile) and if your carrier uses GSM (SIM card), have it unlocked to swith cards whenever changing to a compatible network (AT&T) or traveling overseas. Buy screen protectors to prevent scratchings on it and also get a clear body protector that will prevent your phone from breaking up in case you drop it accidentally. The battery last 4-5 days (depending on how much you use it) and does not weight a ton and fits comfortably in your front pockets (assuming you are a guy). You will not be dissapointed. Always make sure your product is well taken care of and buy only from trustworthy sellers. Enjoy!!Read full review
The QWERTY keyboard is kinda hard for texting since the keys are small, but overall texting with this phone is good. I liked how the phone has a lot a good features and is easily customizable. I personally have the LIME GREEN version, though I would prefer the WHITE AND BLUE one. I recommend this phone for anyone who's looking for a generally good upgrade on a phone that won't cost so much. Could be better, but has everything a cell phone should have- picture and video capable, messaging is easy, calls are not a let down, and design is definitely eye catching.
Love: Qwerty keyboard. SD Micro storage capability. Picture Messaging. Camera (not great, but okay) Look, feel, and size. Most buttons easily accessible. Hate: BATTERY LIFE SUCKS!! Way off from specifications. Smaller screen size. Decided to buy this phone due to the price and offering almost everything I wanted with the carrier...T-Zones, email, and pic messaging for example. I pretty much like everything except the battery life...it is really bad. You only get about 1 to 1 1/2 hours of talk time before completely dying. It will sit for 2 days without needing recharged, but not much longer. I fixed the problem by carrying a spare battery with me.
I love my Gravity! The concerns that people have are definitely exaggerated, in my opinion. The battery does die quickly, but is it going to kill you to put the phone on the charger for an hour while do something else? Also, the user interface is satisfactory, not crappy like other people say, at least in my opinion. The truth is, I had a really crappy Nokia (my ex told me it reminded her of Zach Morris' cell phone from Saved By The Bell). So, I decided to buy this phone because it had a full QWERTY keyboard and use it until my T-Mobile contract is up and I can pursue the iPhone. This was a great decision. The Samsung Gravity is just what I need until I can afford something better. I mean, come on, we all know the iPhone and all the other touch screen smart phones are incredible, so of course this phone is going to pale in comparison. But nonetheless, this phone is great if you're into texting and doing some Facebook or Twitter until you can get something better.Read full review
