I atually have two of these, one is a family file server, holds all our music, videos and personal files. The other one is a backup of the first. It's super easy to setup scheduled backups, setup share folders, all of it. Qnap has a pretty good stash of instructional videos online to show you how to use some of the major features. It is reasonably fast for this purpose.
