L'Armour is justifiably famous for his western novels. While most follow a simple and repeatable storyline, the reader ultimately gets what they pay for: good story built around a rugged frontier protagonist who beats the bad guys and gets the girl. Some of his works are exceptional: the early Sackett novels, Hondo, etc. Last of the Breed is in the exceptional category. He takes the storyline from the Old West, places it in the 20th Century and adds a Cold War backdrop. All in all, a great read.

What can you say about Louis L’Amour that hasn’t been said. He is simply the best. And this story is a well written, very engaging story of modern times. I wish there had been a sequel. Highly recommended.

Excellent Book! Love this story! It is a departure from the westerns L'Amour usually writes - which I love . Compelling and well written.

Louis Lamour does a great job in his books and this CD is no exception. I would call it one of his best projects. His books contain no sex or strong swear words and I really enjoy that.. I believe I have 95% of his writings.
