Blast off!
I like the reels and find them to be of good quality. Smooth operation and drag. Also, casts like a rocket as the name implies. They are also very attractive especially, spooled with tangerine suffix and mounted on whisker seeker catfish bumping rods. I only have one complaint, which is why I only gave them 4 stars, and that is the max drag is not as the box box states. Max drag is only about 5 pounds and that is with the star tightened all the way down so, that is probably pushing it. Other than that these are fine reels for the task at hand.

Nice looking reel
I like the old style thumb screws but that’s not a big deal. I haven’t fished it yet, when I threw a 2oz weight it cast beautifully no backlash on a 60 yard cast with no thumb application at all the break system works great!

One of the best Ambassadeurs.
Always an Abu Garcia fan, Especially the Ambassadeur 6X00 series. I always modified the C3's, and felt they could have a little extra. This one comes with the extra that they need. Amazing casting, and control.

Excellent surf , jetty, or catfish reel
It works good for me. I paired it with a 9 1/2 foot whisher seeker rod and it will fling a 1 oz weight about 80 yds out in the bay.....and I wasn't putting anything in to it ! I was planning on installing a mono mag control on it but I don't think it will be necessary because the centrifugal breaks control the spool very well....no backlash or overruns yet .
