Well, it was easy to assemble and is the perfect size for our needs. The only thing is that it's been too cold and wet to use it - arrrghh! Hoping this weekend will give us the chance to try it out - I can only imagine it will work great, as it's replacing a similar grill we've used for years (so much it had to be replaced). Ok, the weather finally gave us a break and we were able to make some burgers (they were delicious!), so I have some actual experience to relate. All in all it's still a bargain, but there is one thing that could be improved and that's the use of nuts/bolts in the attachment of the top + bottom vents. The bottom vent became loose and was impossible to control. Perhaps I should invest in a few extra washers (not a bad idea). The top clamps were very useful when it came time to move it after cooking - so that's a plus. Still worth the money!Read full review

Usual Weber quality and cooks like the Weber I've had for years that I finally had to replace. These are the best kettle grills and are easy to use. I expect to get many years of good use and great food from this Smokey Joe grill just as I did the last one! One side note, the grill was delivered with a defective upper grill. I contacted Weber Customer Support and they had a replacement to me within a week at no cost to me. Only reinforces my loyalty to the Weber brand!

Replacement for a 30 year old Weber that had seen better days. New one seems to cook like it's predecessor. VERY pleased. Perfect size for two people and I love that the company built in an ash catcher.

I have a big gas grill but nothing beats the flavor that comes from using real charcoal. I bought this small, portable grill when I want to cook with charcoal or go on a picnic. Works great and is easy to use.

This review is of a Smokey Joe from 1992 -brand new in the box opened in 2017. The only differences between the old one and newer models are the legs, the handle (was wood; now plastic) and the words on the top vent (was made in USA; now some lawyerly statement). The bowl, grates, dimensions, and quality are completely identical. This is the best portable charcoal grill ever made and it has been basically unchanged since the 1960s. You can cook most anything on one - I’ve even smoked ribs. You can’t go wrong with one of these.
