As a retired physician, I was very intrigued by this book. After years of practice I’ve greatly modified my attitude of accepting only scientifically proved therapies, and became more open to “Whatever works.” For example, my acceptance of the use of medical marijuana in certain cases is an example of that enlightened attitude. As to this book, I realized early that rigid scientific evaluation, with its double blind studies, would be practically impossible, and only the study of anecdotal tales of various cures would have to be considered. The effects of what seems to be a universal, natural panacea could probably never be proved, and I emphasize, could never be disproved, either. If some of these cures are due to faith or the placebo effect, I would say, “Fine, go for it!” Over 20 years ago, my curiosity urged me to taste a small bit of urine, and so I did. Was I ever surprised! It did not taste bad at all! This led to a bigger sip, and another and another. It had a rather tart flavor, similar, say, to a mixture of warm, weak lemon-lime juice, but it does have its own, unique flavor. To me it tasted, well….. delicious! And so I’ve had my daily sip ever since. The taste varies with concentration and often with the diet. What I didn’t know was how many people throughout the world have been doing this for centuries, and that they’ve used this natural, home-grown, so to speak, cure of various maladies, or to stay in perfect health. I don’t know if my own health has been related to urine sipping, but I’ve occasionally wondered why I feel so great at age 79. Rarely do I have a cold, but it lasts only the one day of sniffles and it’s over. I think this book is well worth investigating.Read full review
This was a good read but I find that reading other books on the same topic is worthwhile. There are varying suggestions and instructions that give more scope to draw on.
