I found Christiane Northrup's book an interesting balance between a conservative physician's approach to the subject and a more Naturopathic-New Age approach. This is an required reading book for my ND Program and I did find using the indexes and online references to be challenging....in attempting to understand the subject matter. When I had to cross reference the online resources were different pages than the actual book. The book references and indexes were not easy to reference. I did think that she did a good job in presenting the subject matter, but I did not find any real new information...other than a few interesting references to a couple of studies. Otherwise it seemed that a lot of the material was easily researched from other sites and books I am already familiar with. I would say the book was somewhere between Good to Excellent despite this, but I don't personally, as a Christian, agree with all of the new age references. As a future ND, I want my own orientation to be more foods, herbs, and educating about the body itself.Read full review
Dr. Northrup covers everything it seems. I highly recommend this book. I have even purchased this as a gift for my sister. You won't be sorry.

Christiane Northrup's Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom is a wonderful guide for Creating Physical and Emotional Health and Healing. This book was first given to me when I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer 1B1 in April 2008. Since surviving my diagnosis and treatment this book has given me much hope and allowed me to heal. I have now given this book to all the women in my life with hopes it will bring them great peace. I recommend it to women of all ages, its insightful and inspiring.
My spiritual director recommended getting this for each of my girls - ages 16 to 23. So far I'm getting good reports back. It has so much information about a variety of health issues. It's easy to pick up and put back down. In a family with lots of females it's a great one to leave on the coffee table.
I recently saw Christiane Northrup on Oprah and decided to read one of her books. It is a great book for helping you to understand your body. She believes that medical conditions are a result of things being out of whack with your life. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for some additional insight into the human condition.
