I always loved the original Dig Dug but when you got to the loop of the final four screens, it got kind of dull. That is certainly not the case with Dig Dug II! II has well over 50 different screens/islands that all present diffent challenges. Unlike the original, this version is all above ground. Instead of dropping rocks on unsuspecting Pookas unt Fygars, you use a jackhammer to knock out the ground from underneath them. The beauty is trying to knock off a giant chunk of each island you are on to send as many of them into the sea, or just knocking out little squares of island and then doing some fishing (play the game, you'll see what I mean!) So if you want a real challenge and love stategising on the fly, get this game! You will not be disappointed!
It was very fun to play this game for the first time in several years!!

An underrated game. It has a new twist of the original Dig Dug, as you can destroy parts of islands to get rid of enemies, instead of the usual inflate-until-they-pop approach. The enemies are the same, though. The game is good and entertaining, and is definitely way underrated.
One of the top three NES tapes. The only ones that can possibly compare are Digger T Rock and Captain Skyhawk. If you haven't played Dig Dug 2, you haven't played NES. Unless of course you happened to have played Digger T Rock or Captain Skyhawk...
