This is a great game! If you played any previous entries in the series, this one takes place prior to New Blood on Wii and after the original DS (Trauma Center: Under the Knife) and its Wii remake (Trauma Center: Second Opinion). The game follows Derek Stiles and Angie Thompson once again as they perform surgeries on patients throughout the story and that is the gameplay that the player will be involved in. When you're not performing surgery, you will be reading text from character conversations and other information in the game. Overall, this game is a culmination of what made the previous entries excellent. You get the better precision that comes with the use of the DS stylus and the ability to adjust the difficulty of the game at any time from the Wii iterations whereas in the first DS game, there was no difficulty setting and it was frustrating to some at times. There is nothing bad to say about the game as it is the best entry in the franchise thus far. I'd give Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 an 8.5/10.Read full review
The game is wonderful. Full of great gameplay and a fun to follow story. If you want to skip the story, you can, which is awesome for fans that just want to sink their knives into their work and save lives. The characters are very fun, and the replay option for the operations gives you something to work for after the game is completed. I Enjoyed the game all the way through, even though the romance was rather obvious, haha. I fell in love with the characters, and I could follow the story perfectly, even though I did not play Trauma Center 1. I am not a doctor, so I have no idea whether or not the procedures are accurate. But they looked good to me!
Great game, it can get difficult but the gameplay is compelling enough to get you through in a few tries.

I really liked the 1st Trauma Center and part 2 is no slouch, might even be better. To play through on easy mode takes about 9 hours, so the game isn't too long and most teen/adults should be able to finish it. I doubt kids under 10 or so will be able to enjoy the game as there is alot of text and the surgery's can be quite technical and stressful. There's a cool storyline running throughout, basically this game is a book with surgery's in between chapters. It's a definite nice change of pace from your traditional video game.
The "operations" that you perform are a fun time challenge that get progressively harder with more things to keep track of like vital signs, removing excess fluids, etc. The concept is similar to Diner Dash in that you have to manage the timing of a lot of different activities in order to "save" your patient and complete the operation. It's a fun game, and a great use of the stylus and touchpad for the DS!!
