Graphics could be better and flight characteristics could be better . Would be nice for this game to be Joystick compatible with a sim Joystick.

The PS3 game works perfectly and was in great condition on arrival. I'm new at PS3 gameplay. I don't like the button functioning assighnment for my game controller on this game. I'm sure I can coustom assighn the functions in the game menu. I've not had time to try that yet. The gameplay and graphics are a little less than expected but I'm keeping the game.

I am very skeptical of games that claim to be an aircraft simulation. Blazing Angels is somewhat entertaining and provides some information to WWII from an American pilot's standpoint. Some historical facts, but definitely not a history tutorial. The sixaxis motion control is very refreshing to the typical console game-based flight "simulation" game. Sony definitely dropped the ball when removing the rumble feedback in the controller. This was a major loss in my opinion. The wireless/bluetooth feature is nice, however. The storyline of Blazing Angels keeps you going and will engulf you into the feeling of an American pilot in WWII, but this is quickly watered-down when the action begins. The game is exactly that - a game. This is not realistic in physics based aircraft motion - it's better than nothing, but not close to the real thing at all. The controller does help out in trying to pull you into the game and the fast-paced action of piloting some of the finest aircraft ever developed - even in today's high-tech jet world. This game is great if you just want to turn on the PS3, jump into the action and play a flight game, shoot down some bad guys, and then turn it off to interact with the real world. But to REALLY get into the feel of flight simulation, a PC-based flight simulator game is best. With that, you have more control over the aircraft, its systems, and a slew of weapons. Real weapons aren't fired or released with one push of a button, by the way. An offshoot of Jane's All the World Aircraft had a company (it's no longer) that produced some of the most realistic and stunningly graphical simulator games. I guess that was too much for today's gamer that wants to just play an arcade game. Online play is better than most games, but the interface really needs some work. Searching for others to play can be frustrating, but it can be done. Once in a game, whether it's a versus or a co-op game, it is fun. The many different types of games in the online play is a bit much, but it does provide choices for different types of gamers. So, if you like arcade flight games, then this is the game for you. You'll love the sixaxis controller and the graphics of this game. If you're into realism and the true feeling of flight, then this is not for you. I rate this game BELOW AVERAGE because I expect realism in a flight game. This game just skirts above the POOR rating because some of the online play is fun. Playing against other real people online is always more fun than playing the main game by yourself.Read full review
Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII for the Ps3 is an excellent game. The graphics are awsome. Also you can fly using the sinaxis controller without pressing any buttons. There are tons of different missions in single play, and this game will last for numerous hours. The game however, is a bit challenging. If you are into flying games and love to blow stuff up this is a must have.
Comparing to ace combat 4 on the PS2, this game absolutely sucks! I loved all the Ace combat series games in campaign mode. Blazing Angels has the controls all screwed up on the PS 3. Obviously the person who wrote the controller program never flew a plane or has any idea how a plane fly’s. I mean: Why in the hell would you put the throttle on the right joy stick and combine it with the ailerons? In Campaign mode the first person view does not even work. The 6-axis tilt system seams in op also. When in the first level and trying to chase down the enemy’s top pilot. I just got completely pissed. His plane not only is faster than yours, it is also near impossible to get a single shot at him. I used every technique in the book to get behind his ass. I tried the upward gun it than stall and drop, Sorry the computer already had his plane back behind me. I tried simple moves like an inverted loop. Nope, the computer still has his ass behind you. Than I got him chasseing me as fast as we could go, I dropped the landing gear and the throttle, My wing man went zooming right past me but not the enemy who was right on my ass. After trying for an hour, I finally found the only way to get a shot at him is to get him on opposed ends of the playing field, than when he comes strait at you, you can actually shoot his ass down. Overall this is the worst player against computer air combat program I have ever seen. I guess in an online mode the game might be great but playing the campaign totally sucks! I am getting rid of this B.S. game! Since I already beat every game out for the PS 3 besides this one, I will have to wait for something good like Metal Gear 4Read full review
