I bought this for someone else, but I did get to see it in use and try it out. I expected a little bit more of foot movement, but that is probably because I wasn't really buying this for myself and hadn't researched it. However, it does compare to other Wii games, and was fun for me to try. So, based on that and on the recipient's comments, I give it a "good" rating. She hasn't had it long enough to get too far involved with it yet....so it might end up going one notch either way later....we will have to wait and see about the long-term ratings.
I'm a big fan of the show. Thought this would be a fun way to get into shape. I do like the program but I thought it would be more true to life than it is. It takes a lot of arm movement but as far as learning the dances or really dancing....no. The charactors are fun and we got a few laughs but I can't see myself playing this very much after the newness wears off. Nice game..Nice package..Will be looking forward to the newer version when it comes out.
Bought this game for my new Wii to get in some fun exercise and to laugh a little with the kids. I didn't realize we would need a second controller / nimchuck in order to access a large part of the competitive areas in the game. I find the music and the dancers are not always in sinc, which seems strange, visually. I enjoy the game, but its design is not what I had anticipated. If I had realized I would need to purchase another controller for it, I would have spent my money on a game that included an extra controller.
This is the best Wii game out there! You really work up a sweat and have fun doing it! I hate to exercise, but love music and felt like a real dancer! The judges can be a little harsh for the kids, so you'll have to explain to them up front not to take it personal. The kids love the game and even my 5 year old plays it. I had a neighbor girl love it so much, she was even playing with a fever! The controls are easy to handle too on this game because you don't have to hit any buttons to dance! You just move your arms to the arrows-up, down, left, right, and sometimes motions like the twist! I buy it as gifts and recommend it to everyone with a Wii!
Not exactly dancing. You're really keeping time with the remote and nunchuk by following the arrows. Even though it's not exactly what I thought, I like it. I just wish I knew how to unlock more songs because I'm getting bored with the five songs I can use. I guess you have to get really good before it unlocks more difficult ones? I also find the judging part a little boring. All in all, not a bad game for the price.
