This game may not be too popular, but it is worth a pick up. The grpahics are your standard NES fare, much like the early Dragon Quest games. The music and sound is very funny to hear now, but it is like most early NES as well. The gameplay is where this game shines brightest. The story is a very modified Romance of the Three Kingdoms(an era in Chinese history that led from the end of the Han to the founding of the Jin Dynasty), it follows Liu Bei as he tries to unite China by defeating Yellow Scarves, Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao, and eventually Sima Yi. The battles are fun because they are not your usual RPG battle. You have up to 5 generals in your party, and you can fight, defend and all the other usual stuff, but you cana lso go "All out" and the party will just attack on its own until it dies or the enemies die. This auto battle is pretty standard now, but back then it was a crazy addition. This game is worth a pick up to people who can stand the grpahics of older games.Read full review
Destiny of an Emperor is a classic game on NES. No question. It has a amazing storyline, is not terribly difficult to play and always FUN. Very original music scores as well, the opening start up music puts everything in motion. I bought this game in 1990 when it was first released and I still have that copy today. If you are into Romance of the Three Kingdoms then this game is an ABSOLUTE MUST.
One of the best nes games ever. Plus playing it on my retron, i can add mods to it. Fucking awesome
