For those of you looking for an RPG that is a throwback to the older days of Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Phantasy Star, and things of that nature, then that's what this, coupled with modern day graphics and rich/vibrant colors. It's not Skyim, Fallout, Witcher, or Mass Effect, and I love of all those games too, but they're much more serious. This is just meant to be light hearted RPG fun, and it excels wonderfully at it, you just need to understand that going into the game.

No game is perfect but this game was extremely enjoyable to playthrough for many reasons. The world is bright and has a lot of amazing scenery in it like waterfalls canyons etc. Characters are also bright and vibrant and all 8 main have a very distinct personality and all grow in some way shape or form throughout the story. Character development is easy to learn as you unlock abilities through the skill tree. This game will take a little while to complete the main story and plan on spending an extra 30-50 hours on the postgame and to get the final ending ( for those longtime DQ fans you will definetly want to see the true ending). Also for long time fans that have played previous games there are some nods to the other games throughout the story some more subtle than others that will leave you feeling satisfied at the end of the day. A couple of the music tracks are a little overused but dont let that deter you from the best jrpg experience on the PS4 and the best JRPG experience in years maybe even a decade. Ive played JRPGs since I was 7 starting with the original Dragon Warrior and it was great to see the series leap forward while maintaining its awesome roots. Heres to hoping for DQ12Read full review

I like what I've played so far. Haven't gotten really into it yet and that's probably the only downside so far. A great jrpg I don't have time for. The sound and graphics are amazing. On par with any Final Fantasy game. So youngsters might not like it's turn based combat but that's what this series is about. Overall a truly great work of art and wonderful story.

Great culmination of the prior DragonQuest games. Some returning characters and themes. Fun additions to combat options. A few hours into the game and the graphics and story is mind blowing. Probably the second best rpg on ps4 (first being persona 5) a must pick up for anyone interested in role playing games. Shipping came super fast which is amazing.
