I first and foremost purchased this game because Red Faction Guerrilla was one of my absolute favorite games I have ever played. With its free roam world and destruction mechanics you could play it over and over again and it was still fun. First lets go over the good, the destruction mechanics are awesome and all of the weapons are new and when used right will make a big bang. Also the ability to repair stuff you already destroyed is an awesome feature. Now for the bad, the storyline is (in my opinion, and in comparison to Guerrilla) choppy and too short, although the destruction mechanics are awesome there was little to no improvement from Guerrilla. Also to me the missions started to feel a lot like a Halo game towards the end... Shoot, hack, slash, and blow up aliens, complete mission, repeat. And for the ugly... you probably already heard this or guessed it but if you haven't, this game is NOT free roam like its predecessor, it is all storyline with no free interaction with other characters. It is all storyline and that was why I rated this game how I did. Guerrilla was so awesome because it was free roam but the sequel was not... what were they thinking... :/ The other thing is destruction mode (where you destroy as much of the environment as possible in a set amount of time) is only accessible if you have the code that came with the game when you buy it new, because if its used you have to purchase a new code in order to enjoy the full Destruction Mode (does not interfere with campaign). So in the end if you are buying this game in the hopes it is like Guerrilla you are going to be sorely disappointed.Read full review
I have played the demo version of this, but the actual game is so much more better, and I absolutely love it, great buy.

This is an alright game, but it doesn't stand up to Red Faction Guerilla in any way shape or form. I played through the story mode, but wouldn't do it again though. The game is just too boring. You only have one path to go down, one that you can't deviate from. The online multiplayer could've been pretty good, but they decided to release it as only co-op. That's not bad if you like that sort of thing, but I like the competition vs. human players. AI just doesn't cut it in the same way.
It was worth the 4$. Very nice game looked brand new
