I will first say that here on EBay we ended up paying less then 5 dollars for this game, which is less then what you would pay for a virtual console (wii) or xbox live game. So my review is basicly compared to those type of games. As a new full priced game, well its not that great, most of the graphics are ok for xbox 1, but you notice things like for some reason before and after the fights it looks like the characters are supposed to be talking but their not. The move and combo list is about average for a fighter. The controls work most of the time, it can be difficult to grapple and the A.I. gets cheap instead of smart toward the end. A nice little touch is when it goes into xray mode (like the movie) to show your breaking a bone or something equally as painful. Blood will also splatter on the screen as you fight, and you will visable see the fighters getting more bloody as the fight goes on. Besides that, what you have is a mostly generic fighter with fight club characters. You can unlock little movies for each character if you play them on arcade, sounds cool but they almost never add anything to the story and they are all very short. The main story mode also isnt anything great, your a new fighter looking for tyler and you have to go through a few differant locations fighting as you go etc etc. The game has xbox live support, but I doubt you'll find anyone to play against and I didnt even log on with it (xbox is upstairs far away from my router) I will add that my bro-in-law was a much bigger fan of the movie and loves this game, but also he hasnt really played to many fighters. If you just take it as a fighting game, its average, but if you can pick it up for 5 bucks or less and liked fight club it may be worth it.Read full review
I have been a fan of Chuck Palaniuk's book FIGHT CLUB. I loved the movie & when I heard there was a game, I had to have it. This game is pretty great. It has most of the options that other fighting games have (story, survival, xbox live, ect.). The game takes characters from the movie (and book) & let's you fight each other in 3 different styles: Brawling, Martial Arts, & Grappling. It also has a story line that uses some of the plot. In my opinion, the greatest feature on this game is the combos. You can train with any of the characters (some are locked until you complete story or survival). Once you learn the combos, the game is great. After you kick everyone's butt on the game, try playing online w/ people as good as you for a real challenge. I love this game!!!
The game is far too basic. The first rule of fight club should be "not play Fight Club." If you like a basic punch and kick game with few special moves, then this is the game you've been waiting for! I personally like games with a lot more complexity. In Fight Club, you simply slap your opponent until one of you falls. A regular roschambo good time. The xbox gaming community has rated this game a 3.*? I wasn't even interested to find out the * because a three is really low so I stopped paying attention. I bought this game at a Blockbuster in the Spur of the moment and boy to I regret it.
a good game for xbox, infact i got these games cause am from jordan, and in jordan we dont have xbox games unles i travil for other cities searching for xbox store witch is not good idea for me, so i bought these great games and i feel good about it.
Good challenging game, but it is a short game, and doesnt follow the movie very well, but it is an interesting game aside from that.
