Get ready for the ultimate knockdown! EA Sports Fight Night Round 2 aims to deliver the most realistic boxing title to ever grace a videogame ring. The sequel to the best-selling boxing title of 2004 looks to knock players off their feet with fresh and exciting added features including a refined version of the innovative gameplay system from last year, a unique create-a-player option, and an extensive career mode. Unleash the most fearsome punches around by adding extra power to each punch with the all-new Haymaker feature, or take control of your boxer's corner with the realistic Cutman control. You can even take 36 licensed boxers (including Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Jr., and Rocky Marciano) and compete online with them to see whom the best of the best really is.
I had Round 3 and wanted to get Round 2 because it had some characters that I was interested in playing with. But while Round 2 has more characters the gameplay is a step or two behind Round 3. The look and feel of the game are simple not the same. You have way more options in Round 3. Most notable is the ability to switch from orthodox to southpaw within the fight by a single press of a button. Also, missing in round 2 is the ability to change strategy. For example, you cannot tweak the boxers stance for speed or power is you wanted to between fights. I regret buying this one and I know its a little unfair because I already had Round 3 and its definitely an improvement over Round 2. Imagine that, lol. Overall, Round 2 is a good game, no doubt, but I highly recommend you get Round 3 instead.Read full review
This game is difficult to grasp at first. The controls are a bit difficult to get used to, but after the controls are down it is a very fun and exciting game. I found it to be almost addicting, going through the ranks as if you were in a real boxing league. The graphics on the game are quite impressive, and the cut scenes have an extremely formatted graphic level. All around, in my opinion, I would Highly Recommend this game for anyone who enjoys watching boxing and is looking to enhance their watching to the playing level. I am not one who enjoys sports games as much as RPG or Action, but all in all, this game was very enjoyable and I even bought the next game in the series (Fight Night Round 3).
This game is so realistic, I feel like I come away after a fight with the cuts and bruises! It has training to get yourself more energy, strength, and speed, and it pays out cash for items when you win. Everything is also on a timeline, and as you get older it seems to get harder to keep in shape and keep your speed! Then you have to decide whether to retire or keep going. You can create and modify a player, or you can select a famous boxer to step in the ring as! It does have a lot of detail with mouthpieces flying and blood splattering, along with working on the swelling and cuts between rounds, but if you are of a mature age to play this, IT'S AWESOME!!! It is a few years old now, but I wore my first copy out and had to buy another one, because every other game gets put to the side when this one is in your collection! On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this game an 11!Read full review
