Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales is a refreshing view into American children's tales. It takes stories such as the Tortoise and the Hair, Peter Piper, and the Boy who Cried Wolf, and puts a Final Fantasy twist on them. Now with Square the the Boy who Cried Wolf becomes the Boy who Cried Leviethan. or the Tortoise and the Hair becomes the Adamantoise and the Cactuar. The game itself is directed toward little kids. the game play is very simple. The geest of the game is just a bunch of mini games and micro games.All you do is play mini games get cards and fight using a card based system. The fighting isn't as much as part of the game as one would think. all in all the game is actually a lot of fun. Chocobo Tales is a nice game that anyone can get into. It is easy to play, but can still give you a challenge will its large variety of gaming elements. So many minigames you can play with friends. I like the card aspect because I've been playing card games for a long time, but there are times where winning requires more luck than skill. It's not the biggest title on the DS, but it is a memorible one.

Whether you're a hardcore Final Fantasy lover or are just looking for the next game to by your kid--this game is perfect!! The characters are fun(and adorable) gameplay is exceptional, and the challenges in the game are just challenging enough to be overcome (if not by one trial, than by a couple) the plot is simple enough--you play an endearing young Chocobo (whom you get to name) that lives the easy life on a Chocobo farm, listening to his owner (Shirma) read stories to him and the other chocobos, when one day, a friend of his--a bookseller/black mage--brings a strange new book to the farm. There is a short challenge in opening the book, then the evil Babuzzu is released! You must go forth and get to the four elemental crystals, defeating him through exciting pop-up card battles and challenges in the many, many stories!! Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales has plenty to offer - multiplayer mode and tons of mini and micro games within the game. Chocobo Tales gets an 8.4 for Story, 8.5 for Design, 7.8 for Gameplay and an overall score of 8.2.
