Konami absolutely nailed the mix between arcade and simulation with the International Superstar Soccer series on the Nintendo 64. ISS 64 was a good first entry, 98 perfected it and tied it with the World Cup fever. 2000 came with a lot less fuss as the N64 was 5 years old and largely ignored by the time, with the PS2 in the horizon and the Winning Eleven series from the Tokyo studio, and without any real marketing backing behind it or any famous player(s) associated with it, it just came and went. ISS2000 keeps the gameplay of 98 and it does lose a bit of the "shine" from ISS98 but introduces a career mode. Graphics remained largely the same but it now supported the memory pak - unfortunately the game had some issues with it, meaning it was best to play without the pak. If you have ISS98, 2000 is not needed. If you don't, it's a good game to get but prices are completely unhinged so weigh your decision.Read full review
