I bought this game (it's not really a game, however. It's billed as a digital graphic novel, which is much more accurate, but the term game is much simpler to use) because I'm a recent convert to Metal Gear Solid and I've recently been trying to get more use out of the PSP that I've had for over two years. Overall, I really enjoyed it. There's nothing particularly novel about the story, but the way they approach the graphic novel medium on the PSP is really interesting: sound effects pop up, lights flash as guns fire, et cetera. Some of the ways that they handle standard video game conventions (what happens to the bodies of killed guards, why are there rocket launchers just lying about?) can be fairly amusing when presented in this fashion rather than in the medium of a video game, which I thought added to the experience. The database feature included, where you can hunt for and identify various characters, events, and items throughout the pages of the graphic novel does come across as a little gimmicky and is fairly time-consuming (having to zoom in and out of each section of each page to insure you haven't missed anything) but still kind of a neat feature. The controls do seem a little counter-intuitive at first, and took me some time to learn, but it wasn't anything too horrible. I wouldn't recommend this for more casual fans, but if you're a collector or fanboy/girl (and if you've played any Metal Gear games at all, you really should be), this is a good purchase to make, especially as it's fairly hard to find.Read full review
Metal gear DG is a great game it envolves the player in a thriller narrative trought a interactive grafic novel. Try it!

If you're a metal gear fanatic and like comics as well as the Sony PSP- this is a good solid title. Only getting rarer to find and harder to come across, if you happen to find this either on eBay or just out in the world for a decent price- by all means get it. Definitely something nice to just sit on the shelf along with your vast UMD collection. But if you just want to experience the title alone, you can purchase it on PSN for nearly $10.

The graphic novel shows a side of metal gear I never thought of. it is a very interesting novel. it goes through the story of shadow moses, and follows the beloved hero solid snake go through his missions. great novel take on one of the most popular video games ever created.
