It's a really good game. I love Monster Hunter. It's like Pokemon and I love that. The turned based combat is 100x better than i would have expected for a turned-based rpg spin-off of a monster hunter game. It's just so much fun with actual strategy. Collecting new monsters and riding them is cool. Splicing genes is SICK. I love it. Tons O' fun. 10/10. 5 Stars. 💯💯💯👌

Monster Hunter Stories is one of the few games on the 3DS I believe to be worth paying full price for. Other games fitting my same category are Super Smash, Pokemon games, Animal Crossing, and Fantasy Life. Most 3DS games I buy a few months after release for around $18-25. What makes Monster Hunter Stories worth buying now is the community is at its peak. It has online/multiplayer features that benefit by having a strong community. MH games also get frequent free DLC releases so it's more fun being an active player while these events are going on. Buying the game later is in my mind the same as picking up the latest World of Warcraft expansion a month before the next one comes out. Sure you can still enjoy the content and raids, but you missed out on experiencing that during it's time with the majority of players. DL the Demo from the E-shop first, as completing it gives exclusive items that carry over to your full games savefile. After the demo, if you're still on the fence, I recommend watching multiple reviews and Let's Plays on YouTube. Monster Hunter Stories has many hours of play per dollar spent. Addictive features for me are the crafting, gathering, multiple ways of progression, and the fact that armor and weapons show up on your character. :DRead full review
