You can get reviews online with lots of details so I try to simple provide an easy-read pros/cons list. Pros: 1) Lots of choices! If you are looking for a top-down real-time RPG with full customization of your character, I don't know of any others on the PS3. 2) Online multi-player works. Diablo style, allows 3 others within a 10 level gap to join your game. 3) Large map, no forced linear story. Roam and explore at will! 4) Addictive loot collecting. Not quite as good as Diablo or Borderlands but a similar feel. 5) Flexibility in the leveling system. How do you like to play? Grinding? Plow through the main story with a big challenge every quest? Finish as many side quests as possible? All of the above? Any of these styles work in Sacred 2. 6) Huge range of creatures diversity. I have fought just about everything you can think of, and am still entertained by the new creatures 36 hours into the game. Cons: 1) Frankly, its a boring story. I don't love it, don't hate it, but I certainly don't play for the story. 2) Graphics quite disappointing. Frame rate issues, and maybe I am being picky, but I like pretty spell actions and my attacks to look cool. Its all a little blah. 3) Limited multi-player. Only 4 people per game. Also, I have experienced a lot of lag regularly in the online games. Awkward traveling, areas you think you can walk to you are blocked and the path system in, on occasion, confusing and frustrating. Hope the helps! If you need details look at professional reviews, but that is the best I can do for a quick pros/cons list.Read full review
If you are fan of birdseye view hack n' slashes, then this is a great purchase. With six classes, five difficulty, and a very addictive loot system, you can potentially spend 1,000 hours per class, if you're looking to completely finish the game. Graphically, it is a bit outmoded, but still decent. If you do not game on an HD tv, however, many of the words will be difficult to read, as it is not made for SD tvs. It has overwhelming character customization, an endless supply of useful gear, and over 500 quests to complete. The story is forgetable, however (I've beaten it nine times and couldn't even tell you one thing about the story), as is the voice-acting. If you're wanting a fun experience waiting for Diablo III, though, then dropping $20 on this is a great idea. I bought it at full price, and do not regret it.Read full review
So far I'm really enjoying Sacred 2. the world map is huge and there is tons to explore. There are loads of weapons and armor that your character constantly finds and above all the game doesn't take itself too seriously which I especially like. NPC characters say super sarcastic and ridiculous things that make me laugh. On top of that there are massive amounts of enemies to fight basically everywhere you go. The game gets a little sketchy after you've unlocked a good portion of the map so that kind of sucks but beyond that I'm really liking the game.
If you liked Diablo, Diablo II, Lord of the Rings Two Towers, or the Baldurs Gate Series you will LOVE Sacred 2 Fallen Angel for the PS3! This is a RPG Action game with beautiful graphics and in depth action play but with strategy as well. Let me tell you the game map is MASSIVE! This game will take hours and hours of your life away so be forewarned! I have already logged 40 hours and have not even scratched the surface. Each game is different and everytime you play with a different character the game is different. There are literally thousands of different types of armor and weapons you can find, some very magical and very rare! As you add magic items and weapons the modifiers all effect how your character looks and performs! You can constantly customize your character as you find new items. Hint: Always left click your left thumbstick and it will show you hidden places, chests, vases, etc you can open to reveal items! There is so much to this game it would take a 50 page essay to explain. To summarize, if you like action rpg games with lots of strategy to go along then this is the game for you. Graphics are great, except when sometimes they flicker, but it is tolerable. The sound is ok, and the voice acting just ok. The real strength is the gameplay, storylines, and customization. Every time you play it is different. You could play the game and then re-play again and it will be different. This game is a real keeper and worthy of adding to your library!Read full review
for RPG fans THIS is your game. A nice and eclectic choice of player. Tons of magic, equipment, weapons, armor etc. etc. that can all be modified and leveled. A map that is...to put it mildly..HUGE! A great option that you don't see nearly enough in an RPG, a camera angle option that gets your view down and just behind your player!! Very close to an "OBLIVION" kind of feel. Fabulous game with so much attention to detail that it boggles the mind. Added bonus for ps3 owners...two can play on one console OR you can play alone OR...wait for it...you can play ON-LINE!!!! This game is a keeper and the 3rd installment is on the way.
