Super Pitfall is loosely based on Pitfall II: Lost Caverns,in that the object is to move Harry through the mazes to find the Raj diamond, and rescue his niece Rhonda and sidekick Quickclaw, both of whom have become lost in the caverns. However, Pitfall Harry's quest becomes tougher when he sees that the faithful Quickclaw is imprisoned in a cage and a key must be found, and that when Pitfall Harry finds his niece Rhonda, she has been turned to stone and he must locate a magic potion that will turn her back into a little girl. In Super Pitfall, however, Harry must also return to his starting point after accomplishing these objectives. Like the original Pitfall, but unlike Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, Harry has a limited number of lives. This time, Harry is also equipped with a gun with which he can shoot the various deadly creatures that inhabit the caverns. He has limited ammunition and must find additional bullets that are scattered. Arguably the toughest enemies are three cavemen which require more than one bullet to eliminate. Gathering gold bars results in extra points. Completion of this game requires the memorization (or mapping) of numerous hidden keys and warp zones and revealing each secret requires a precise jump, so the exploration portion of the game is very difficult.Read full review
I originally played this game over ten years ago on an old Tandy Color Computer 3. I bought the Nintendo version recently because I love to play old games I once played as a kid. The Tandy version gave a choice as to which skill level (novice or expert) that you could play. This Nintendo version gives no choice and seems to run at what I would say is the expert level. However, that is not so bad. If you love old games like the original Donkey Kong and Mario, you will probably enjoy this game.
Pitfall : The Mayan Adventure. It's instantly a classic in my books. I love the graphics and I also love a hard challenge. The bosses are cool and the levels are filled with puzzles and enemies. The price for this game is amazingly low and the quality of this game is Super-Fantastic.
Pretty cool having one of the games that wast part of my life when I was a little. I remember playing Pitfall when I used to go over my uncle Roberto's place, he used to play this game all night long! He bit this game in a week, that was so awesome!
The game played just fine. No problems getting the game to play. I used to play it when i was younger. I have to learn to play it again.
