Thief: D.S. is an excellent game, with terrific graphics & sound, & great story. The stealth elements could have been improved upon a little, but it is still great. Game has great atmosphere, & camera can be switched to 1st or 3rd person, at the push of a button. If you like stealth games (Splinter cell, or Metal Gear), then you should also like Thief: deadly shadows. :)
I bought this game for the xbox many years ago, and traded it in when I got my xbox 360. When I discovered it was "backwards compatible" and would play on my 360, I immediately lusted after it all over again! I love playing thief: deadly shadows because its never the same game twice! You can change how you tackle each mission, how stealthy you want to be, what tools and items you will use, even who you want to be aligned with. And once you've unlocked an area, you can visit it again at any time - which means you can take advantage of different prices and shop stock at vendors and fences in different areas to always get the best deals and the best items. Its also super fun to hide from the law just by stepping into the shadows... or pile heaps of concussed npcs in dark alleys... and I never get tired of breaking into people's houses/shops/apartments and looting them for all they're worth! Most of your enemies can be dispatched with a bit of cunning, rather than an overt show of brute strength, and it really challenges you to look at every situation and assess before you act. Guaranteed hours of gameplay!Read full review
This adventure is ahead of its time. A different angle from the "shoot 'em up" classics, Thief brings finesse and incredible style to a historic masterpiece. The levels are challenging, with almost unlimited enemies with great storylines and culture tied to them. This game is not a quick finish either, it is several hours of user determined routes. Well designed and true to history, the architecture and costumes are impressive. Beware of the Assylum test, on a big screen with surround sound, in a dark room....It will straight Freak you out. The Hero is perfect, like that guy that you root for, but wouldn't trust to walk your dog. The weapons are skill based and not impossible to collect, you just have to spend your money wisely. Always think where you will be next before you buy your weapons. I cleared this game on vacation in a "little sleep" weekend unless you are really in the game, it will take you alot longer than that. You simply will not be dissapointed. thanks for comin' out. TbosRead full review
I got into the Hitman series and really liked it. This is a lot different, but still has the same patience-needed play style. It can be alittle quirky--I've gotten stuck in walls a couple times, and if you get caught into straight up combat you can die very quickly--so save often. But if you want to feel like a sneaky thief in a D&D like city setting, you'll have a lot of fun playing this.
Thief: Deadly Shadows(Xbox version) has provided the beautiful graphic, lighting & shading including good textures details in game when I play it with Xbox gameconsole. It's workable with very good performance like PC version. But I love XBOX version because I have no need to worry about the specification of PC computer and compatibility of updated graphic card driver. Each missions in game has the challenging details. It make me enjoy these thief game series very much. Use hidden skills as stealth technique in completing mission. I love it!!! Strongly recommend for anybody who love the adventure & action role playing game. U can't miss it in your game collection. Remark: It's workable and compatible with the next-generation gameconsole like XBOX 360 also. Play it with XBOX 360 can make more clear better textures and smooth pictures because the resolution in game may be upgraded by XBOX360 to be HD Ready(720i)which depend on your LCD monitor resolution also if it can support. Overall's impressive!Read full review
