This game was my introduction to the Ultima series. I went backwards and bought a Commodore 64, then an Amiga 500, mainly to play Ultima games. Been an Ultima fan ever since and have played them all. This NES version is different from the PC version, but I liked it more.

I bought Exodus for NES because I love the original Ultima series of games created by Lord British. I found the NES version to be quite good, a decent port to the NES. It is well worth the effort to get yourself the original cartridge, because it just has that feeling no emulator can quite give you. The one thing about it that I did not like was the clunky interface, however, you can't expect a game designed for the PC that was very much a keyboard centered interface to port perfectly to NES. All in all it is a good game and I reccomend it to Classic RPG fans if for no other reason than to display it in their collection.
I had a problem finding a saved game. Like the old memory in the game lost my game. I heard of old games having problems like that, not you fault. Good game from my childhood. Thank you.

My brother & I bought Ultima Exodus back in 1990-91 from Toy's R' Us. That same store is still there after 20+ years. They had an entire aisle devoted to Nes games, it was incredible. We decided to give Ultima Exodus a try since we both loved Rpg's. If you wanted to buy a video game, you would get a slip of paper with the games name on it & give it to the cashier & pay. Then, the cashier would call an employee to open the door to this storage room with windows & pick your game up. Oh, those were the good old days. Now, I'll give a short review. Ultima Exodus Nes was the very first Ultima rpg for the Nes. It' very much like Dragon Warrior, in fact. Once you start playing, it's very hard to stop. There's so many things to do & see. You are not going to beat this game in a day or even a week, it's that long. You assemble a team of 4 characters that can include a paladin, magician, thief, & other classes. It's very fun & draws you in instantly. I would not recommend this game to little kids or people with no patience. It requires patience & the ability to use logic. The graphics may seem archaic, but this game came out over 20 years ago & still holds it's own. Fortunately for me, I was able to buy all three Ultima games for the Nes & all 4 for the Snes. I'll be in rpg bliss for a long time to come. If you like classic rpg's, give Ultima Exodus a try.Read full review
