I have played Wipeout and other racing games. I prefer Mario Cart, Crusin World, & Crusin USA as my favorite racing games for the Nintendo64 System. What these three games have in common is that they are (easier) to control or drive the cars on the tracks than other racing games I have palyed. Wipeout is just that, it is easy to wipeout while driving & playing this game. A very high skill level of a good driver or racer is needed while playing Wipeout; if your going to succeed in winning the races on these tracks that this game has, then you must start out with the easier racing games first. When you get good at the easier racing games that I had mentioned, then try Wipeout and other harder to race games; in my opinion in order to be at the pro skill level of racing games.
OK it is 2011 and our family still owns our N64 along with our other systems to include a PS3, so this is not just a knock on the graphics of this game. We enjoy playing older games that still are fun to play. If you want motion sickness then this game is for you. Only pick this "futuristic" race game up if you can find it dirt cheap. With dozens of games to choose from this one is rarely a game the kids will pick out to play. This game is hard. You will like the cool futuristic look feel and sound. The gameplay is fun and fast paced. There are not many features in this game, there should be some more unlockable content, and I think you should be able to steer with the D-Pad.
