After playing the first version of the game, i thought maybe Kazuma Kiryu (main character) would have changed his outfit. But apparently everyone in Tokyo has one set of clothes to wear. Anyway, the game takes place a year after the first Yakuza. Kiryu has left the clan to live normally as Hakura's gaurdian. Until Terada, the current chairmain of the Tojo needs his help to prevent a war between rival clans. Kazuma hesitates at the proposition, until Terada is shot and asks for Kazuma's help with his dying breathe. Kazuma has no choice now. Yakuza 2 makes alot of references to its previous installment since you find weurself running into the same characters as well as some new ones from Osaka. Like a love interest of a detective from Osaka, Kaoru Sayama, and the love child of Fuma and sitting chairman of the Tojo, Yayoi. The further into the story you go, the more history behind each characters is unveiled, and more people are revealed and discussed, and the more confusing it becomes. The entire dialog of the game is in Japanese, so if your looking to brush up on your japanese, this is the game for you. Other than that, you're going to have to read, and read, and read. It's not that bad for me though. However. I have a widescreen TV, so the only video format that's desirable for me is fullscreen, and the subtitles kind of get washed out with the colors of the game. And like the last installment, there's alot of ass kicking. And i mean A LOT of ass kicking as this game is 16 Chapters!! The game has lots to offer outside the story with side missions, a few more restaurants and alot of locker keys to find. it took me about 20 hours of playing, and i did as many side missions as i could and only had about 43% completion. And after you play the game once and beat, you get 1million yen to spend on the next round. Definately get your money's worth with this game.Read full review
The Yakuza 2 video game is one the best games i've ever played. This game beats most of the PS2 games i've ever played. From the storyline and plots to the fighting control system this game will keep you entertained for hours. You'll hate to turn off the game because you'll want to keep playing to see what happens next. Not only that but the side missions and host bars and everything you liked about the first Yakuza game is amplified and made better. I'd highly suggest if you enjoyed the first Yakuza that you get the Yakuza 2 game. You won't regret it!
The game looks hardly used and the disc is in wonderful condition! Exactly as described!
