The book is fairly basic and you can tell it is written by clinical mental health folks, and not school personnel. Teachers want strategies they can implement in their classrooms with practical examples. These were not in the book. Also, in this day and age of short attention spans, a lot of the concepts presented could have been in bullet form verses wordy paragraphs. On a positive note, for school based mental health clinicians, the sections on trauma screeners and interventions is current and helpful.
