When you don't need the chute and pusher this one is much easier to use. I'm often just chopping, mixing, grinding, etc. The chute/pusher top is usually only necessary for the grating and slicing discs. This is one is for blade work. I've had two of the chute/pusher tops break just because there are so many parts and a complicated construction for safety reasons. What a waste since I don't need it most of the time. There are just two pieces to this flat top. The lid interlocks with the safety switch so there won't be any accidents. The other piece is a plug for the hole that doesn't interact with the safety switch. It's easy to remove and is helpful to add ingredients that are smaller than 2 inches. It's made of the same material as the bowl. Just separate the plug and lid to wash in the dishwasher. Much cleaner than the chute/pusher. Also nice and compact! You don't lose any volume in the bowl. It's the same internal volume as the chute top. My only complaint is that the hole should be off center. When it's on center you drop added ingredients onto the hub of the blade instead of landing right on the blade. A really convenient addition to any Cuisine Art! Highly recommended.Read full review

I have now replaced this plastic bowl twice over a period of about 10 years of owning the Cuisinart Pro food processor. I only use it a half dozen times a year at the most and try to be as careful in assembly/disassembly as possible, especially after the first break and I could see the plastic parts weakness point. However I've found that the bowel that is made to lock in place and allow the motor to run eventually spider cracks and breaks at the point that pushes the button allowing the motor to function, when broken off it won't run the motor. Other parts of the bowl show the spider cracks but don't effect the operation. Everything else about the food processor is just wonderful. Does a great job when it will run and the motor is as strong as new. I don't see any way to solve this since over time it simply Read full review

This is the second Cuisinart food processor I have had. It replaced one I had for 20 plus years. It does not have a lot of power. Neither did my old one, but I was hoping that in the span of years they would have improved it more than they have. The one feature I do like that is different is a larger sized drop in space for the food pieces. You get a choice of a smaller and a larger space. It's a little easier to clean as a result of that as well. I guess I am happy with it for the price I paid, but would like to see it have a more powerful option.

The off-pulse function is excellent. Nuts, vegetables and leftover turkey were processed just as I wanted them to be. All I had to do was look carefully between each pulse then quit when they reached approximately the size I wanted. The thin slicer made perfect lemon slices for a pitcher of lemon water. I ground whole flaxseed just enough to break them up so they were digestible. I ground rolled oats into oat flour with ease. Given this display of success, I think it will accomplish other tasks equally. As long I am not processing anything oily or sugary, a rinse under the cold water faucet is all it needs for cleansing. On the occasions where I put the components in the dishwasher there were no resulting problems.

easy to use, great size, extremely well made. Have had the same model in black/stainless for 7 years then decided to go with white small appliances in kitchen, so I gave my old one which looked and worked just as the day I first got it, to my daughter.
