This is the first electric shaver I've used regularly since about 28 years ago. I got tired of getting shaving cuts, and this shaver solves that problem. You also don't need shaving cream or even water with an electric shaver. This product has a comfortable grip and a long battery life. The Long Hair Pop-up Trimmer feature serves its purpose effectively, but it is scratchy on the skin. Another downside (as I guess you might expect from a budget electric shaver) is that it is hard to get a close shave, especially on the neck. This shaver is affordable and reliable but not very efficient. If a pretty good shave is good enough for you, then you might not be disappointed with this product.

My Norelco electric razor got dull so instead of just buying new heads I bought the Wahl LifeProof Foil Shaver in hopes that it would give me a closer shave. So far it hasn't. I have only had it for about a week and I think it probably takes longer for my beard to adjust to a new razor, but so far it is only fair. Really no improvement over my old one. I think it looks good, it is certainly easy to clean and it works wet or dry. My concern is that it doesn't really work that well wet or dry. I'll give it a few more weeks and keep my fingers crossed.

I'm a long-term committed user of Braun shavers, so this purchase was a venture out on a limb for me. To me, Braun is the gold-standard for power, comfort, and reliability, which you need if you are a regular shaver and have thick hair. I prefer the slide-up trimmer that Brauns offer (stays in place more reliably) as opposed to the flimsy flip-up trimmers you see with most other brands (Norelco, Remington, etc), which to me is a horrible design. So when I saw this unit from Wahl with the slide-up trimmer, I figured I would give it a shot since all the Braun shavers that I am accustomed to using are either not sold anymore, or the updated models are out of my price range. The pros: Only a couple weeks in, seems to cut okay. Trimmer slides up well and stays in place as it should. Size is good for handling. Grip is comfortable. The cons: Seems very anemic - one can tell from the buzz of the motor, it's just not as powerful as the Braun. This is probably fine if you have thin hair, but not fine if you have thick hair. Gives me the impression it's not going to last long. Trimmer is not very wide Teeth on the trimmer are super sharp/pointy - I can't push in quite as firmly as I'm used to because they will literally scratch the surface of your skin. This slows me down so I can't shave as fast, which is a pain. I will use this one till it dies, which I hope will be longer than I presume, but probably won't buy again.Read full review

It's a little early in the process, but after a couple of shaves I have to say it's better than I had hoped. This has all the bells and whistles including a popup trimmer. It came with 2 sets of brushes and lubricating oil so that was a bonus. I typically shave my face, neck and head, and with the Wahl it took about 5 minutes, maybe less for the whole thing. I'm glad I purchased it and hope for many years of faithful service.

I have had this shaver for a short time. It appears to be sturdy in construction and I expect it to last for quite some time. The shaver is easy to use and provides an adequate but not overly close shave. From my point this is a good thing. By cutting not so close, there is less irritation and almost zero possibility of cutting close enough to cause bleeding (I am on blood thinners).
