It is not what I expected but does work well for long hair and to get the volume at the crown. It makes your hair too hot to handle after one pass on the lowest heat setting, It has no cool touch tip so it is operated with one hand only, no stability. There is only one position that you can rest it on the countertop when heated. My daughter says it pulls her hair too much when running the length of her hair. I said yes to gliding smoothly but I feel it isn't as smooth as it should be. Heat up is really quick and does have 3 heat settings (temperature is unknown) high, medium, and low. I do not feel it is of great value relating to the price tag on it. I have tried to use several times in a variety of techniques but alway turn to the traditional curling iron and flat iron.
