The author does a great job telling the story from the perspective of the main subject in the book. He leads you through the emotional changes of the main character using word choice and spelling, which was a unique and effective way of presenting the condition of the patient.

Told first person thru self-reflexive "progis riports", we are taken into the mind of Charley Gordon and follow his changing observations on the world.
