Disclaimer Statement: I purchased this book for school so it was not an optional purchase or for pleasure. It is also an international edition so it was not a hardcover. That being said- the book has been highly informational and helpful in my studies. I unfortunately do not have a comparison available but it was clearly written and easy to follow. It was pertinent to the times and was clearly marked for easy reading. The subject matter can get a bit dense sometimes but again- it's a text book and they are rarely an entertaining breeze to read. I do not feel that I am qualified to reccommend the book (as I am not the professor) farther than telling students that this book was very helpful for the class.
I bought this book as a required text for an Org Comm class. Not the most interesting text, but it's got a pretty sensible chapter progression and most of the chapters are about 20 - 30 pages, so it's not a painful read. The teacher's syllabus follows the chapters in the text and doesn't jump around, which usually means that the book makes sense. No key terms at ends of chapters, only a summary and a few discussion questions. No glossary. Extensive references, name index, and subject index can be found at the back of the book.
I bought it for school and even though it wasn't the United States one, it still is the exact one. I also like the soft cover better than the hardcover because it's durable
The book came brand new and is a great addition to my collection. I don't really need the book for my class though since the teacher doesn't really refer to the book often. The newest edition would have been a better investment since her study guides come directly from there.
