Eric Braeden leaves no stone unturned -- from his humble beginnings in Germany to his early life in California parking cars to his multiple, multiple feuds on the set. Even more interesting than the actors he praises are the names he leaves out. Trust me -- quite a few noticeable snubs!!! What made the book particularly relevant is that he addresses that, in spite of his German heritage, there was a lot more to 1940s Germany than anti-Semitism. We often get caught up scapegoating a country (North Korea, Iran, Russia) when the truth is there are a lot of really good people in these countries, in spite of their politics. He follows up on his previous support of the war with Iraq. He believed we needed to commit to a 10-15 year occupation of the country. Worth considering. And of course, some of the common soap staples are touched on, including characters talking to themselves and the decreasing budgets of today's productions. All in all, a fascinating read for any Y&R fan or someone who wants to learn a bit more about German history and backstage Hollywood gossip.Read full review

I have watched The Young and the Restless for years and bought the book to find out more about Eric Braeden. His story of his life was more than I would have expected. I found his book very interesting and I found out Mr. Braden has overcome many hardships but has earned the success and admiration he now has.
