Contains a wealth of technical details on traditional wood cutting: saw and axe sharpening, axe hanging, blade geometry, splitting and drying firewood, etc. The images complement the explanations and make it easy to understand. I now use it as my main reference.

Too much filler material that does not pertain to axes. Such as when Cook cuts his toe, a 1938 hurricane, info on saws and wood. Its supposed to be a book about axes. Only a couple of paragraphs about one-bevel axes which are used in timber framing. Did not learn much from the book. will not open it again. Probably sell it on EBAY, its not a keeper.
