I had a can of this clear sitting on my shelf for months waiting for me to work up the courage to use it. I must admit, I was intimidated by the whole thing. I have been using Krylon clear for my projects for about a year and it is not up for the task of protecting my products. It does look nice, yes, but the Krylon has no chip or scratch resistance at all. Enter Clearmax- I started a higher end paint project and decided to pop the red cherry on the can I had sitting on my shelf. I painted like I normally would with my Krylon cans and it was same spray feel. I didn’t have to learn any new techniques or methods, just spray and go as normal. I laid down 3 nice coats of the clearmax and let it sit overnight. To my surprise within 24 hours this stuff was ready for wet sand and polish. I was able to work faster with the clearmax because it dried HARD over night, well hard enough to work and not worry. When I reassembled my project I didn’t have to fear that I would chip the clear or paint like I would’ve with the Krylon/Rustoleum. I have full confidence in the Clearmax and my only gripe would be- “why did I wait so long to use it?” Sure, it is a little more expensive but knowing that my projects will be professional grade from here on out allows me to step up my game and offer better and wilder paint projects to my customers. I don’t have to (but do anyways) handle my projects with kid gloves because fragile subpar clear coats. I will be stocking up on the Clearmax and using it from now on. Read full review

This clearcoat does not harden. I do not know if it is a result of age or manufacturer defect but I'm am 100% certain that I met or exceeded the required time for shaking the can (per the directions). It has been almost a week since using it and the clearcoat is soft and easily removed. It basically cost me the price of the clearcoat and all the color coats that will also be ruined after sanding this garbage off.

This stuff is GREAT...I'm so glad I stumbled across it! It's very easy to use, is forgiving, and gives professional looking results. In comparison, the various rattle can clearcoats from the local hardware and auto parts stores are much harder to get decent results with, are not nearly as glossy, and do not provide a very durable finish. I used this product outdoors in a sheltered location, and early in the morning when the temp and humidity were within acceptable parameters. I followed all of the safety protocols (breathing mask, coveralls, latex gloves) and also set up a box fan 10' behind me to make sure that any airborne particles and fumes would be blown away from me. This is my new go-to product for anything that needs a high gloss clear coat.

I've been a hobbyist for many years, lately restoring antique radios, but have never come across a product this good. I get a mirror like finish with it's unique 2 part rattle can system. It's a little pricey, but well worth the results it brings! Just a note of caution, always use a respirator and good ventilation, along with covering up from head to toe while shooting this product!

I've been painting vehicles for years and I must say that this is the best clear coat in a can by far. Very handy in doing small panels on vehicles that need a touch up. This IS a 2 part mix (paint + hardener) so the same safety measures apply to this as it does with hvlp air sprayers as far as using the proper PPE (personal protective equipment). A mask is a MUST! But overall very excellent product amd will be doing more business in the near future. Cheers!
