Charging during the Wuhan Flu
My car battery was dead and I couldn't get to Pep Boys to get it recharged because of the lockdown. I ordered this product and got it over the weekend. I hooked it up to the car without having to pull the battery and let it trickle for a day, and the car starts fine. Unfortunately I still have no where to go because we are still locked down.

these things do NOT have an automatic shutoff when you battery is full. it is not a problem as long as it is not putting out more than 13.6 volts. anything higher will boil the acid in your battery and ruin your battery. i checked mine with a multimeter when i received it . 15.5 V !!!. this isn't a battery maintainer , it is a trickle charger which can and will ruin your battery if left hooked up for too long. look on the harbor freight website and see all the people in the reviews who have left bad reviews about this. remember this is made in China where quality control is not a thing.these things do NOT have an automatic shutoff when you battery is full. it is not a problem as long as it is not putting out more than 13.6 volts. anything higher will boil the acid in your battery and ruin your battery. i checked mine with a multimeter when i received it . 15.5 V !!!. this isn't a battery maintainer , it is a trickle charger which can and will ruin your battery if left hooked up for too long. look on the harbor freight website and see all the people in the reviews who have left bad reviews about this. remember this is made in China where quality control is not a thing.

I've tried several others, this Cen-tech is the only one that consistently works.
I had to keep up the battery on a 1999 Mercedes that is driven less than 50 miles a year. I started with a couple other brands, including one from "Moto-power" and I was concerned because either it didn't charge when it was supposed to be charging, or else it was over-charging - first time I used the Moto-power charger on a (new) battery set on float, it was charging the minute I hooked it up and still charging 12 hours later! Pretty sure that isn't what it was supposed to do, and not willing to gamble a $200 battery on a bad charger, I got the Cen-tech from Harbor Freight. I left this charger plugged in 24/7 for 4 years, and unlike some other garbage chargers, it never over- or under-charged. I used the Cen-tech on a Mercedes that was rarely driven, and that has the battery mounted ... I had to keep up the battery on a 1999 Mercedes that is driven less than 50 miles a year. You can buy fancier trickle chargers, and if you need one to fast charge or jump-start your battery, don't get this one because it isn't the one you want. But if you have a car, or just a car battery, that mostly sits and is seldom driven enough to charge up, this is the trickle charger you want. And one last thing, prices for this Cen-tech charger seem to vary wildly, so I wouldn't buy the first one I saw for sale.
